I used to make French style furniture. I learned how to make it in a 19th C. style by going to antique stores, drawing, measuring, and examining closely the construction/woodworking techniques; and then go home and adapt and copy the pieces. I thought I'd rather learn to make them myself than become a lawyer to be able to afford to buy them. I was correct in this. Today, I saw this pot rack and decided to draw a picture of it...

Here's a little wooden box I made a long time ago. The wire holds a birthday cake candle (when I have some) and the space behind the picture is for the short drawing pencils I like to use. The arched painting surface had those cool bug holes when I painted the gouache picture on it. The box is about 4" wide.
