Here is that idea I was trying to work out. It's supposed to be a view inside of my house in San Francisco so that you could see inside from the outside, and through the roof to the city beyond: a mediæval perspective on things. Gradually I decided on the sharp uptilt of the floor, and experimented with the angle of the room. I added the ceiling beams and hints to myself of the furniture and windows as I switched from side to side of the room in successive views. After arriving at the 8th one, I decided to go with #7, maybe combine certain elements of the last two and proceed from there after I colored in #7 a little. I thought that #8 had twin contrary diagonals in the floor and the orientation of the room implying movement of the viewer in time, but it dynamically cut off the right side - the doorway wall and stairs. #7 was more ordinary dynamically, but the compositional situation wasn't such a problem. It had to be 'sette'.
