auctioned doll.
Sep. 12th, 2010 12:49 pmThis doll was at the auction house last month but apparently did not sell, or the buyer flaked out, because it was there again yesterday. Sometimes when they start the bidding, and they get no bids, or perhaps there was a reserve that wasn't met, the auctioneer concludes the auction with a false house bid. He says sold, to bidder so and so, but does not lower the gavel. Then you know that it will be back if you have been paying attention. Usually when lots are back the following month, their estimates have gone down and the bidding is started lower.
