This makes me feel peaceful every time I encounter it on my Reading page.

I think these Monterey Cypresses are my favorite kind of tree. They grow all around here near the coast. Many times they are very asymmetrical and dramatic due to the constant wind from the sea. The ones in Golden Gate Park are straight and magnificent being further inland and protected by other trees and the terrain. They all show these long trunks and branches with high canopies. The fog drifting through them in the mornings just adds to their magic.
