I took aspirins at 7 when I woke up, and then was able to fall back to sleep until about 10. I took some more aspirins and had coffee, and by about 1:30 I was feeling fine. I have a sinus problem that activates when I have several triggers going. The main trigger is when I get very very tired, and then any or a combination of other triggers cause me to develop a headache when I am sleeping. If I can wake up at the start of it, like around 5AM, I can usually knock them out, but if I don't catch them early, they can last all day. I was lucky this time. Thanks for the icing tip though, I will try it next time.
My massage experience is that people grind or grit their teeth when tired or stressed, the tension from the jaw goes directly to the back of the neck, which clamps down on the blood vessels. Coffee and aspirin work well to restore blood flow, the ice helps too.
