The vet thought maybe it was a foxtail that caused the death of one of djaza's (LJ) cats by getting into it's head. They get working their way into my socks a lot.

That's horrid what you mentioned. I know I have seen a couple dogs who got hematomas from them in their ears. Every time I see any foxtails, I think about how much trouble they can cause to animals.

Yes, me too. They are everywhere here in California which most of the year is desertlike.
