
Here is a section of fence in front of a small house in Port Costa. All of the pickets the whole length of the fence have these birds cut and painted on the top. An extra piece is glued on for the wings, and each is painted slightly differently. As you can see, the birds are wider than the pickets, which means that each one entailed a lot of waste when the boards were cut out. Expense was no object to the artist who made this fence. Asakiyume would love this dreamlike place.
