Probably so. I am one of those guys too. I never take umbrellas and I don't like to be under them either. I usually wear something with a hood when it rains. I'm always irritated with umbrellas that people can't seem to control that blow around and threaten to poke me, or they move so slowly that they block the sidewalk. They do that anyway, but with umbrellas they are even a bigger blockade, and dangerous as well. Bah!
