Above the street that the cars are on is an elevated freeway. The two dark vertical shapes are columns on either side of the street, and the dark shape along the top is the freeway roadbed underside. It looked to me like a sort of composite photograph, so I tried to process it that way and added dark borders on the sides and below, along with the freeway roadbed (which is a little irregular) to frame the three views of the townscape seen through the columns. I took the picture through the BART train window and it blurs the image, especially with the raindrops on the outside. I like the effect. The far column, which is the one closest to the middle is interesting because it's dark shadow falling on the street towards us is flanked, outlined, by the white pedestrian crossing lane lines on both sides which made an unusual coincidental visual effect I thought.
Bad weather is bad for crime, so no shootings were evident to me, but you could imagine those red flashes are short bursts of gunfire. They missed the train even though it looks like they were pointing straight at me.
