I'm not sure what those coverings were for. This was around new years and most of the fields were freshly plowed and probably freshly planted. They grow a lot of lettuce and salad kinds of things around there. Maybe they are tiny plastic greenhouse coverings to protect against frost?
I was more free with the saturation on this one. I liked this composition and had cropped it tightly and decided to use stronger color to make it more painterly. Just a little bit more north of here and the glutton - San Jose/Morgan Hill - begins to eat up the farmland. That cyclone fence bounding the field from the trees is a harbinger of the urban blight just around the bend.
