I'm kidding about the "Vallysium" bit - the new name I have coined for Vallejo: the True Elysian Fields of the Fabled Bay Area. These earthworks are new though; I think they just completed these levees within the last year. The are on the Napa in American Canyon - the town N of Vallejo, in a parkland area. Now, one can ride a bicycle through the park to the river, and then take the bike path along the top of the levee all the way north to Napa (I am told). I haven't done that, but I would like to, as it is level the whole way. I have to re-inflate my bike's tires as it's been awhile... and of course, find a watermelon.
Haha. Watermelon. If it's isolated, don't forget your semi-automatic. That levee doesn't look like it would hold back much...maybe the tears at Richard Ramirez's passing. :P
Ha ha. Richard Ramirez's passing. I couldn't understand why so many women were lining up to visit RR in the SF jail after he was caught. They were all in love with him (now that he was locked up in a cage).

I think American Canyon is undergoing a building boom. Developers just want to make cheap crap houses, and need to start spreading out into the wetlands to maximize their profits. Heh, in 50 years the whole area will probably begin flooding. What, we're going to build a huge dam to protect American Canyon, historical and cultural capital of nowhere from sea level rise? And who would want to buy a new house in a previous wild wetland? The house would be sinking, cracking, full of molds... and full of moldy people, the type who would think Uh-merican Canyon could provide the lifestyle of their dreams.
