It looks like the door fell off, and the hayloft door flap which goes up to the point of the roof, has flopped down. The place must be functionally abandoned. It's like a classic of it's kind I think, although I don't know much about farms.
Sometimes I think about what if I had looked around for an old farm house and outbuildings to buy and live in, instead of moving out of the city and to the town of Vallejo. Maybe I would have gotten lonely, and I probably would have become weird (more weird) being alone all the time; but maybe I would have really liked the solitude and whatever else I may have found there, and really become a self-knowing person (with an arsenal).
Eh! We'll never know. Still, I like buildings like these, and solitude, and I never pass these kinds of places that I don't think about this, and maybe remember Far From The Madding Crowd where Hardy describes the rural architecture during the sheep shearing scene... then I snap a few pictures and move on.
