I did a small thumbnail to kind of explore the perspective and placement before I did this final one. I had decided to crop a little off the sides from the photo, so that the whole picture seemed like the darker part in the center would more relate in shape to the whole picture - they're both roughly square. Also, I wanted to make the center part much darker - a kind of bulls eye effect, but the graphite seems to get shiny the more heavily it is laid on, so it get's lighter in a way. Anyway, I left it at this point. Maybe I'll do another as I had planned to do and just see how it would have worked out. This one seems to have a more mysterious feel than the others.
I think it works pretty well. Part of what draws me to it are the different angles involved in the perspective and the way the awning draws my eyes to the door.
