busy bee me.
Nov. 17th, 2010 01:50 amA few people like to see my shop, so here goes. I've been doing some panel making for the last few days. I got this idea to make big business cards in the form of small painting panels. I thought I would give one panel to each of my customers every time they make an order. Then they can either paint on it themselves, or give it to a friend (which is what I hope they will do) to entice them to have me make their panels too. Of course, I can use them too. I think I will silkscreen some kind of drawing on the back of the panel with contact info, etc.
So, here is a shop picture with a table full of new stuff.
small panels.
I made all of these small panels out of the scraps that have been laying around for a while. I still have enough scraps to make about a hundred more of those small sizes, it looks like there are 35 of them there. I make a lot of panels for artists and there are always lots of end cuts. The ones further away are all done, and the wobbly stack in the foreground have to be sanded to clean off the filler stuff in the corners where the nail holes were; they'll be done in a jiffy.
And here is one of a few small thumbnail sketches I did and am doing to come up with some sort of drawing to silkscreen on the back of the panels - my wooden oversized business cards. What do you all think about this latest idea of mine?
