I like that first photo a lot - and what a lovely little locket. Is it the same one she's wearing? And did you put up a drawing of this woman recently because she looks familiar.
Yes, and yes. You have a great eye on both counts. This was Sheba, a close friend of mine who had lots of problems and passed away many years ago. I still think about her a lot; we were emotionally tied together in deep, but largely unhealthy, codependent ways.. Here she is at a friends art studio about 3 months before I met her, wearing that locket. (My artist friend Lynne took this picture.)
About 4 years later, I found the locket in her things. Sheba had a bad heart (among other health problems) and one evening just before I got home from work, she laid down, and fell asleep, and that was that. I arrived home about 20 minutes later. Her heart had just stopped beating. She had just taken a shower and I could tell from the water on the floor what the timing had been: 20 minutes too late.
From time to time when I get the blues for one reason or another, this is the place I return to. Nothing was as bad as that. I make a post and then wonder whether to post it or not. Sometimes I do, sometimes I save it for later. It helps clear my thinking from sadness. Doesn't make sense, but that's what I do.
So this is the woman from the driving licence picture you posted the other month? I recognised her in a drawing you made, and then in the photo above. Either that or the two women look very similar.
That's a sad story. My dad died shortly after I went out one night. He and my mum were out in the garden, and he collapsed. She couldn't get the keys to go in and phone for an ambulance. She had to go round various neighbour's doors until she found someone who was in, but it was no good.
Sorry about your dad. Your mother must have felt frantic and terrible.
My moods are usually not sharp and sudden, but always present like a context. I have many moods, and so I usually can move through troubling ones pretty fluidly. LIke with Sheba, I usually do something creative with the feelings, and this makes them useful to me and so they are almost valuable. I'm not trying to forget; that would be total loss.

I hope you're not feeling down today.
