Photobucket has also disappointed me lately. They had just gotten to where I could comfortably use them, and I liked the different layouts they had etc, and plus I can use the Uploader addon with my Firefox, and then they went all ugly and slow and 'may we suggest' this and that bs. I have complained to them many times about it, and you can see from googling the 'new photobucket' that a lot of people feel the same way as we do, but once corporate jerks get something in their heads they think will make them more money, there is no going back.
Sites are always doing this. Look what Google has become--a monster. You can't even google images anymore without being a power user, and there is so much crap on every page, and they don't want to let you go when you find another page you want to see because I guess their advertisers get more money the longer you stay on their page. You probably don't notice it, but I do.
Facebook is the same way. I have had to tell people with cable connections how to manage their browsers and addons so that FB won't freeze their computers. Sites all bemoan the fact that half the internet uses AdBlock, but they have only themselves to blame. I'm just surprised they can get ANYONE who DOESN'T use AdBlock.
Well, I'm with you on all of what you said. PB expects us to find them so great that we get a paid account. I don't think so. Slow, doesn't work most of tht time you use their editors, which they have made useless to anyone but a kindergartner. Now, they are losing photographs. They always reduce the size of the photo files so they are dull and less sharp, and then if the editors work and you vainly try to restore the jpegs, that reduces them more... yes, I want to pay for all this.
