Big, very sharp earthquake tonight around 0320. a 6.0 magnitude about 7 miles north of here. Everybody I know is OK. Lots of my paintings fell off the wall and all the rest are crooked - very little other damage. Downtown Vallejo, an old brick church partially collapsed. I hear occasional sirens but all is quiet otherwise.

Lots of pictures of Vallejo it says. I haven't seen them yet.

I've seen some of that damage in Vallejo. Today the street was blocked off near another big old brick church and it's big tower was in danger of falling, so it is to be demolished very soon. Lots of the damage on Mare Island looks to have been to the fine old houses there, and some of the original civil war era brick buildings. The news make it seem worse than it seems where I am. Napa took the worst hit it looks like. Thanks for the SF Gate link.
