You know, I've never even been in a Starbucks, and we have them here. It actually depresses me that the world is becoming more homogenised. When swine flu broke out, there was a bit of news footage from Mexico, and I couldn't believe the street they showed. It was exactly like one of Glasgow's pedestrianised shopping areas with all the same shops.
Walnut Creek made me think of Little House on the Prairie - but maybe that was Walnut Grove or something. Then again, it could be something totally different and my memory is playing up big time. The cafe you describe sounds lovely. Still, one day wifi will be everywhere!
